Heart of America Professional Photographers Association

HOAPPA recently held its annual print competition in Kansas City, and I was honored to have received three merit awards for my prints, Homestead, Reporting for Duty, and Waiting for an Eternity.  Homestead also received the Kodak Gallery Award as well as the Fuji Masterpiece Award.  In addition, I was named among the Top Ten Professional Photographers of Missouri.  What a night!  And what a blessing.  I'm always amazed at the talent we see at these exhibits and I'm honored to be a part of it.  The next step is International Print Competition in June.

Kori

I had another opportunity to photograph one of my favorite models, Kori, right before passing on her Courtwarming crown.  This was also a chance to try out my new set with the antique tiles.  I loved the look of the pink fluff combined with the intricate design of the tiles!  But you just can't beat the simple, elegant beauty of a gorgeous girl with a sparkling tiara.  So I give you both...

Top Ten Professional Photographers in Greater KC

The Professional Photographers of Greater Kansas City (PPAGKC) recently hosted their annual print competition.  I was excited and honored to be named among the Top Ten Professional Photographers in Greater KC.  Two of my images, Homestead and Waiting for an Eternity, earned merit awards.  Homestead also won first place in the illustrative division, and Waiting for an Eternity earned a judge's ribbon.  That being said, I have to give kudos to all the amazingly talented professional photographers who entered the competition.  The beautiful images they create always leave me breathless.

PPAGKC Print Competition

Our annual print competition is coming up this weekend.  I'm always excited to see how my images do in front of the judges, but VERY nervous as well.  Keep watching.  I'll post some competition images as soon as I can.  Regional competition (HOAPPA) will be at the beginning of April, with PPA international competition following in June.  Wish me luck!

Lauren

And check out little Lauren!  Lauren is a spunky, independent little girl with a great sense of humor (just like her mom!).  But the best part of the session for her was when the photographer got "tickled" (and almost dropped her camera)!  She's a sweetheart, isn't she?!
